Our Story

Welcome to Sharma Paan New Zealand

Born in Delhi and raised in Mumbai, Rakesh Sharma is a Chartered Accountant by profession. A complete food enthusiast and avid paan lover, his passion for paans blossomed during his time in India, where he frequented the paan shop 2-3 times a day, making it his favourite daily ritual.

In 2000, Sharma's pursuit of further education for his children led him to New Zealand. Despite his love for paan, he was disappointed to find that the paan options in Auckland — from Papatoetoe to Sandringham — did not meet the standards he had become accustomed to in India.

Undeterred, Sharma, on his subsequent visit to India, took it upon himself to learn the basics and acquire all the recipes from the famous paan makers of Mumbai. Today, Sharma Paan NZ brings those authentic flavours right to your doorstep.
